ELECTION TIME If you are interested in running for an Executive Committee position, email treasurecoast@surfrider.org by September 7th Event: Treasure Coast Chapter Meeting
AGENDA Call to Order ELECTION TIME Nominations are open from August 1st to September 1st and will be voted at the September 8th Chapter Meeting. CANDIDATES The following individuals have submitted their names for candidacy: Tiffany Jackson HOW DO ELECTIONS WORK Positions: Available: 7 An executive committee member may serve for an unlimited number of terms, providing that at least one year's absence from Executive Committee membership occurs for a specific position after any full two year term. Voting: Any member in the chapter's geographical area who attends the election meeting and has attended at least three other chapter meetings or events within one year preceding the election is qualified to vote in the present election. Absentee ballots may be permitted at the discretion of the Executive Committee. Ballot Counting: Two members of the chapter's executive committee who are not up for reelection to the chapter's executive committee must be designated to count the ballots and must complete their task within one week of the election. The results shall be made available to the membership as soon as the ballots have been counted and reported at the next chapter membership meeting. Election disputes may be appealed to the Surfrider Foundation's Chief Executive Officer, whose determination shall be final. The 7 candidates whom receive the most votes will become the executive committee. Those 7 members will have an organizational meeting to determine amongst themselves who will hold what position. POSITIONS FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE & DESCRIPTIONS
Vice-Chair – Performs duties as assigned by Chair, fulfills Chair’s role when absent. Secretary– Records minutes, keeps records, send copy to webmaster to post on website Treasurer– Manages financial records, receives and disburses funds with receipts. Volunteer Coordinator– Recruits members, updates Cooler email member list. Assists Awareness & Events Coordinators and campaign committees. Awareness/Outreach Coordinator – Helps develop community sponsors and support. Assists Events Coordinators and campaign committees. Fundraising/events Coordinator- Helps develop events with/for campaign committees. Media Coordinator–maintains online contact list, sends press releases, assists officers in communicating with media. Social Networking Director- Creates, Maintains, and Updates social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, etc...
